IE12's code name could be Spartan in yet another Halo reference for Microsoft

The next version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser, IE12, could be using the internal code name "Spartan". If so, this is just the latest example of the company using a code name that has a reference to their Halo Xbox game franchise.








 

Upcoming version of Office will let you switch over to the dark side

Along with a technical preview of Windows 9, which is scheduled to be announced on September 30, Microsoft is allegedly testing an Office Technical Preview. According to The Verge, the software maker has been sending out preview builds of the upcoming version of Office to partners and testers.








 

Assassin's Creed Pirates makes its way back to the Windows Phone Store [Update: for just $1.99]

Last month Assassin's Creed Pirates was released for both Windows Phone and Windows 8 devices. Shortly afterwards, the Windows Phone version was pulled from the Store due to widespread crashes and errors.

The developers over at Ubisoft have apparently patched things up and AC Pirates is once again available in the Windows Phone Store.
