9/13/2014 4:17:24 PM
Data Sense is a vital Windows Phone 8.1 tool for many who like to keep track of how much data their phone consumes each month. Even more, the gizmo gives users the ability to restrict background data when roaming, set data limits, and see which apps grabs the most data.
Earlier this week, Microsoft released a companion app for Data Sense called IE Data Savings. The app taps into Data Sense but gives users a more detailed analysis of their Internet Explorer web usage. The app is free, and it should work all phones with the Windows Phone 8.1 OS installed.

Flipboard for Windows Phone 8.1 spotted on the Store, but you can't have it yet
9/13/2014 3:38:47 PM
Back in Berlin, Germany a few weeks ago during Microsoft's big reveal, many people noticed the Flipboard app for Windows Phone was preloaded on a the new Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 display phones. I won't get into the politics of what happened, but you can pretty much guess that Flipboard was not announced that day. Instead, it is still Coming Soon™.
This morning though, a link for the app has been spotted on the Store. As you may have learned from the headline, you cannot yet download it, making this likely blocked by the developers until they are ready to announce it, or it is a private beta, meant for internal testing.

Windows Phone Central Game Roundup: AppCampus Showcase
For those not familiar, the AppCampus project is a collaborative effort between Microsoft, Nokia and Aalto University to help build new content for the Windows Phone platform. It is a great resource for developers to tap into as they strive to develop new apps and games for the Windows Phone Store.
The AppCampus has helped produce titles such as Dark Lands, Foundbite, Project Tripod and SongArc.
The AppCampus Showcase is one of the many Windows Phone Store Collections and highlights a large selection of Windows Phone titles developed through the AppCampus initiative. The Collection features over fifty apps and games produced with the help of the AppCampus and we've pluck a few games to highlight in this week's Windows Phone Central Roundup.
