Alcatel Pop 2 will be first Windows Phone with a 64-bit processor

Alcatel has plans to launch a Windows Phone-based version of its Android smartphone, the Pop 2, and it will be the first such phone for Microsoft's mobile OS that will have a 64-bit processor provided by Qualcomm.

Vodafone doubling bundled entertainment on its Red 4G plans

Vodafone has today announced the UK mobile operator will be packing more entertainment into Red 4G plans for a limited time. Between September 12 and November 3, customers who sign up to 4G with Vodafone will be able to enjoy Netflix for 6 months and Sky Sports Mobile or Spotify Premium at no extra cost. As well as the bundled entertainment options, Vodafone will offer unlimited 4G data for the first three months.

Microsoft has released an update for the Xbox One SmartGlass Beta app available for Windows Phone. The mobile app enables consumers to connect to their Xbox consoles and carry out numerous tasks, including turning the Windows Phone into a controller. Previously updated with activity feed items, the development team have added yet more features to the experience in this latest release.
