The Yezz Billy 4.7 disappoints with underpowered hardware and confusion
9/10/2014 6:08:38 PM
At IFA 2014 we saw a few new Windows Phones like those from NGM, Archos, and Prestigio, but the Yezz Billy 4.7 had the potential to really stand out. Details about this phone have been scarce since its announcement in May, so when found this phone in Berlin, we knew we'd have to spend at least a few minutes with it.
Dance Central Spotlight review – The ultimate Kinect dancing game now on Xbox One
9/10/2014 6:02:44 PM
When the Xbox One launched last year with the Kinect peripheral included with every console, many gamers resisted the Kinect's inclusion. And why wouldn't they? The new Kinect had launched without what many consider the best Kinect game series on Xbox 360: Dance Central. That hole in the lineup has been filled now that Harmonix (maker of the upcoming Fantasia: Music Evolved) has unleashed Dance Central Spotlight exclusively as a downloadable Xbox One title.
For the low price of ten bucks, Dance Central Spotlight includes ten songs with multiple routines and a fitness mode. A variety of songs are available to purchase as DLC, too, with a few transferring over for free if you own them on Xbox 360. But does Dance Central Spotlight capture the magic of its Xbox 360 predecessors? Read on for the full word, plus our exclusive gameplay video and screenshots.

Microsoft rumored to drop 'Phone' from Windows Phone, losing Nokia near the holidays
9/10/2014 5:35:16 PM
When Microsoft acquired the Nokia mobile division it bought the rights to the Lumia name, but not to Nokia, which lives on a separate company. In that sense, the notion that Microsoft eventually phases out Nokia branding from its products is of little surprise since they have to do it.
A new report from the site Geeks on Gadgets claim that this transition period takes effect as soon as the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 hit the shelves. In other words, those will be the last Lumia devices with the Nokia name emblazoned on them. Considering Microsoft is not suspected of any new Lumias until 2015 – possibly with 'Threshold' – the effect will not be felt for some time.

Microsoft's Lumia 735 is coming to Verizon Wireless
9/10/2014 4:06:05 PM
Last night, AT&T and Microsoft's Stephen Elop let it the world know that the 'affordable flagship' Lumia 830, announced last week in Berlin, is coming to the US carrier in the coming months. However, Verizon Wireless has lately overshadowed AT&T for new Windows Phones, as 'Big Red' has managed to scoop up the Lumia Icon (aka Lumia 930), Samsung ATIV SE and HTC One for Windows.
Nevertheless, one missing link in Verizon's portfolio is a new mid-range Windows Phone, as the others are all considered high-end and flagship.
Archos 40 Cesium gives Nokia a run for its money at $99/€79.99
9/10/2014 4:03:11 PM
As much as Windows Phone competes in the high end, the low-end is where the real action is at, and Archos's new 40 Cesium Windows Phone is the latest entrant to challenge Nokia's Lumia 530. And it does so at the same $99/€79.99 price point as Nokia's latest entry-level Windows Phone, while possibly bringing a bit more to the table. At IFA 2014 we had the opportunity to go hands on and see just what Archos has in store for Windows Phone.
