Microsoft has just updated its "by the numbers" page to represent that the Windows Phone Store has surpassed the 300,000 app milestone. That's a hefty number, and even more exciting considering that Microsoft reported it had 200,000 apps on offer back in December of 2013 — at this rate of growth who knows what the app catalog could look like by the end of the year.

Believe it or not, there have been four Ice Age animated films released so far, all of which have been huge box office hits. Now Windows Phone owners can join with Sid the sloth, Manny the mammoth and Diego the saber-toothed cat in a new game, Ice Age Adventures, from publisher Gameloft.

Microsoft fixes 8018830f error for some using 8.1 Update Preview for Developers (Updated)

Update: Microsoft's Joe Belfiore just commented on Twitter "It was a "packaging problem" with the update. Try again and it should work." He then goes on to say "Still working on the "low storage" install prob 80188308. Note, this is not USER storage you can clear- it's install partition. Sit tight."
Microsoft may have finally addressed installation problems with the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Preview for Developers. The issue initially started when Update 1 for Windows Phone 8.1 Preview began on Monday and a few users downloaded the update, but it would not install. The associated error code is 8018830f, and Microsoft's Joe Belfiore tweeted that they were investigating.
Ever since yesterday, we have received a few tips that those with the previous 8018830f error are now getting Update 1 to their phones. However, within the last hour we have received multiple tips from users who are now being alerted to the update being available, along with a successful installation. The fix may also address those with the even more rare 80188306 error.

It looks like the floodgates have been opened for many owners of the Lumia 1020 who have been waiting to get the Lumia Cyan update. Nokia's Canadian Twitter page claims the update is being pushed out in that part of the world.

New photos of Microsoft's next mid-range phone, codenamed Superman, reveal a bright green Lumia 720 successor is being developed, along with new firmware.
Two new Lumia phones, thought to be the 'Lumia 730' and 'Lumia 830' are reported by the Verge as arriving in the next few months. Recent images leaked of the Lumia 830, which is thought to have the codename 'Tesla.' Now, the first photos of what is understood to be the Lumia 730, codenamed 'Superman' have been obtained by Windows Phone Central.

Movie Maker 8.1 has just received a major app update for Windows Phone. As you know, Movie Maker 8.1 is one of the few video editing applications available. You'll need to be using Windows Phone 8.1 or above to take advantage of apps like Movie Maker 8.1. Today's update adds new video effects, audio fade and much more. It appears that the Lumia Cyan update has begun its rollout in the UK for owners of the Lumia 1020, as we have received tips that users on both the Vodafone and o2 networks have begun receiving their over the air updates for Windows Phone 8.1.

Newegg for Windows Phone has been updated to support Canada. Newegg is one of the most popular online shopping portals for electronics. You'll probably find yourself buying a part or two from Newegg if you're building a PC. From time to time it's also a great site for finding deals on Windows Phones. Microsoft to end support of many older Internet Explorer versions January 12, 2016

Microsoft will stop supporting many older versions of Internet Explorer on Windows Vista, 7, and 8.1 on January 12, 2016, in an attempt to get users to move to the most recent versions of their web browser.
