T-Mobile doubles tablet data plan, expands family plan

If you add a tablet to your T-Mobile Simple Choice plan, starting September 3rd T-Mobile will charge you $10-a-month for the privilege and will double your data allotment in the process. The plan creates a duplicate bucket of data reserved for that tablet, up to 5 GB per month.

Verizon preparing to finally launch VoLTE in the coming weeks

Verizon Wireless today announced that VoLTE (Voice over LTE) will be available on the network nationwide in the coming weeks. Customers with the US mobile operator will soon be able to make higher quality calls (and video calls) with other subscribers on the same network with compatible 4G smartphones. The plan is to slowly roll out the upgrades across the board to compete alongside AT&T and others, using LTE for not only super-charged data but also higher quality calls.
Rumor claims Threshold preview for ARM-Windows Phone devices due in early 2015

A new rumor from ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley claims that Microsoft will release a preview version of "Threshold", the next version of Windows, sometime in early 2015 for ARM processors, and it will run on Windows Phone devices along with certain tablets like the Surface 2.
Appy Weather, a Windows Phone weather app with a personal touch

Appy Weather has joined the ranks of the numerous weather apps available in the Windows Phone Store. It hopes to stand out from the pack by offering a more personal approach to the weather forecast and a simple interface.
While Appy Weather lacks weather radar and weather alerts (catch the update at the end for this has changed), its minimal design does look good and the app does deliver a healthy amount of forecast information to your Windows Phone. Appy Weather makes a nice first impression and while there is room for improvement, the app comes across as a solid weather source for your Windows Phone.
