Destiny's companion app not planned for Windows Phone

Bungie has no plans to release a Windows Phone version of its Destiny companion app, which will be made available for iOS, Android, and web browsers when its beta officially begins on Thursday, July 17.

Microsoft is set to purchase 175 megawatts of wind energy from the Pilot Hill Wind Project in Illinois, located about 60 miles south of Chicago, which will form a 20-year agreement. Moving forward with a more renewable focus on energy consumption, the goal is to power Microsoft's Chicago data center with the wind farm, following a similar deal in Texas back in 2013.

'Microsoft needs to change', says CEO Satya Nadella

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke at the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference yesterday where the new head spoke about how the company as a whole needs to change if it is to remain competitive. Reiterating much of what was shared in the lengthy memo sent out to employees last week, Nadella specifically spoke about the need for Microsoft to focus more on productivity and platforms. There is going to be some amount of change to occur at Microsoft.

The Telstra wireless carrier in Australia has announced it has delayed the launch of its Lumia 930 model. It was originally set to be released today but the carrier has announced that date has been pushed back due to a small hardware update on the Windows Phone 8.1 device.
Three UK makes 0800 numbers free on new SIM-only plans

UK mobile operator Three has announced new SIM-only plans, enabling consumers to save on calling 08- numbers. Free 0800 calls will be included, while other 08- numbers (084, 087, etc) will cost 5p per minute. The network will also be introducing new spending tools, which will prevent customers from exceeding allowances and limits on premium numbers. On top of all this, new allowances for tethering will be rolled out.
Microsoft preventing new Lumia owners from changing the default search engine to Google [update]

Microsoft has disabled the option to change the default search engine on new Lumia Windows Phones. Previously, consumers were able to switch between Bing and Google depending on personal preference, which would alter which service the Windows Phone would utilize when searching the internet using the Internet Explorer address bar. After acquiring Nokia's handset division, Microsoft has made it so only Bing is available for selection.
