Shoggoth Rising looks absolutely insane, from iOS and Android to universal app on Windows and Windows Phone
7/30/2014 9:36:18 PM

Let's get one thing out of the way already. The visuals for this game look absolutely insane. Shoggoth Rising has originally launched on iOS and Android last December, but now it's on Windows Phone, too. You play as Ned, who has survived a shipwreck. You found a lighthouse, but you're far from being safe. Waves of sea creatures are going after you and you need to kill them before they kill you.

Head past the break to watch our gameplay video on the Nokia Lumia 930.

Review - Nokia MD-12 Portable Bluetooth Speaker
7/30/2014 8:57:57 PM

In April, Nokia announced a new accessory called the MD-12 speaker. It features Bluetooth 3.0 HS (High Speed), which is ideal for power consumption, and it weighs only 180 grams. The big selling point though for this $50 accessory is the "guaranteed" 15-hours of battery life for playback, which is impressive.

On Sunday, I reported that Microsoft Stores have begun to sell the MD-12, which is a good thing since it can be hard to find, especially in the US. For $50 (plus free ground shipping), you are not risking much, but is the sound any good?

Zomato gets another update; adds more cities in India and enters Chile
7/30/2014 8:32:57 PM

Zomato is a popular restaurant finder Windows Phone app that gives you recommendations for restaurants in your area and lets you look at menus, pictures, contact info, and directions. Available in over forty cities across the United Kingdom, India, Brazil, the UAE, New Zealand, South Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, Portugal, the Philippines, Qatar, and Sri Lanka, the Windows Phone app was recently updated to version 5 with a complete design and user experience refresh.

After the major refresh, the app continues to get quick updates, and has just received the fourth update in three months. The app has now been updated to version 5.4.0.0, and brings in some new features. The app's also lighter, and definitely faster (So, yeah, I've pre-empted a lot of comments!) across the board.
