T-Mobile is the first wireless carrier in the US to confirm that it will sell the Lumia 530 sometime "later this year" but offered no further details on when the Windows Phone 8.1 device will be available from the company, nor did it give a price tag.

Unicorn Rush is a fun endless runner styled game for Windows Phone that puts you on horseback in an effort to save the fantasy Kingdom of Grant.

The back-story has a riot occurring at the Kingdom's border and as soldiers are dispatched to deal with the riot, the evil Duke Hogan has snuck into the Kingdom's Capital and captured the King and Princess. You play the role of one of the King's Knights who will have to rush back to the Capital and defeat the evil Duke. The ride back to the capital isn't a gingerly stroll in the park with a wide range of obstacles, traps and monsters to overcome.

Available for low-memory devices Unicorn Rush makes a nice impression. Graphics are nice, game play challenging and if you can overlook that the game's Knight looks more like a farm hand, it's a Windows Phone game worth trying.








 

Microsoft claims Surface Pro 3 sales are 'outpacing' earlier models

Microsoft's Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood said this week that sales of the company's 12-inch Surface Pro 3 tablet are "outpacing earlier versions of Surface Pro" but did not offer any specific numbers.

Video of Microsoft's secret labs offers a look into the world of Surface

The folks over at Bloomberg managed to get access to Microsoft's secret Surface lab, which is the paving ground for new Surface tablet designs. The video features Panos Panay, VP of Surface division, who mentions that iterative design wasn't in Microsoft's DNA, and that his team has had to work hard to get the Surface pro 3 to where it is in terms of the hardware design.

Microsoft today announced the Lumia 530, a brand new entry-level Windows Phone. Those who recall the affordable Lumia 520 will know exactly who Microsoft is targeting with its successor. This Windows Phone is the latest handset to come from the tech giant running Windows Phone 8.1 and featuring a quad-core processor to boot. The only difference being the price, which will see both the single-SIM and dual-SIM variants be listed for under €100.
