Autodesk releases preview version of AutoCAD 360 for Windows 8.1

Autodesk, the well known middleware company that's released a number of Windows 8 and 8.1 apps in the past, has launched its newest software for the OS. It's called AutoCAD 360 and it allows users to view DWG, DWF, and DXF files, but not to create or edit them.

Microsoft and their new Nokia employees are in the midst of finalizing regional builds for their Lumia Cyan update, as such, more reports of rollout start dates are becoming known. The latest country on the list is Spain, which is reportedly getting Lumia Cyan on the Nokia Lumia 925 at the end of next week (week ending July 12).

When it comes to media and social sharing, the book is still being written on what people want. Today, Shuttersong and Microsoft are announcing their newly redesign app for Windows 8.1. Shuttersong (www.shuttersong.com) is a free service that lets you embed audio, such as voice clips or music, directly into photos. Once completed, you can share those photos via email or social networks like Facebook.

Shuttersong has been in an open, but quiet, public beta for a few weeks. The company though feels their app is ready for prime-time, announcing today the general availability of Shuttersong for all Windows 8.1 users.

Skype has announced that it is changing the way it charges VAT to EU customers. Instead of charging VAT when customers add credit, Skype will add the relevant taxes when you actually use the service to make a call or buy a new subscription.

VAIO was the popular line of computers by Sony, which was sold earlier this year. The brand has returned as an independent PC manufacturer, launching two 'new' Windows 8 laptops today. While touted as new, the debut range offered by the newly formed VAIO are actually identical to the old Sony Prop and Fit models. What's more is you'll not be able to purchase one unless you reside in Japan. VAIO will be focusing on the Japanese market prior to rolling out units worldwide.








 

Nokia Lumia 930, Lumia 630 get priced for consumers Down Under

Both the Nokia Lumia 930 and Lumia 630 have been priced for the Australian market and will be available sometime this month. Pricing for the Lumia 930 will set consumers back by AU$729 as an outright purchase, but can be picked up on all major carriers in the region. The more affordable Lumia 635 will be priced at AU$279 and will be stocked by Telstra and Optus.








 

Nokia Lumia 930 to launch in Thailand on July 9 for 19,890 baht

The Nokia Lumia 930 will be available in Thailand next week. Microsoft today unveiled the Windows Phone, which will be stocked by local carrier dtac with a 50 percent discount for 12 months on supported plans. The 4G Windows Phone has an expected shipping date of July 9. Bright orange and green will be joined by the usual black and white variants, providing some choice for early adopters and the Windows Phone will be priced at 19,890 baht ($610).
