City Dodge Review - a fast paced, crushing good Windows Phone game
6/20/2014 12:21:49 PM
City Dodge is a rather unique Windows Phone game where you race back and forth on the screen, hoping to avoid getting pancaked by a collapsing ceiling. The game increases in speed, difficulty and you play until your character gets crushed by the ceiling.
You have hints, magnet and other boosts to collect to enhance your chances of survival and side missions to help the game from getting stale. City Dodge is a fast-paced game that has a certain amount of appeal to it. I can see it being a good choice when you are looking for something different to pass the time with but I'm not sure City Dodge could hold up to longer gaming sessions.
Munchem, restaurant ordering from your Windows Phone
6/20/2014 12:06:27 PM
Munchem is an interesting Windows Phone app that lets you search for nearby restaurants, check out their menus and order food for pick-up or delivery (if available).
The Windows Phone app comes across as a convenient way to order food on the go. I can see it coming in handy on those nights you don't feel like cooking and want to grab some grub on the way home from work.
The concept behind Munchem has appeal but is crippled by one small restriction. The only restaurants covered by Munchem are in the Orlando, Florida area and it only appears that one pizza joint has signed on to the program. Munchem isn't a bad Windows Phone app, it just needs a lot more meat on the bones as far as coverage is concerned to have a chance at success.
Microsoft teases possible launch date of a green Lumia or successor to the X
6/20/2014 10:54:27 AM
Microsoft Mobile Oy has published a small teaser article on the old Nokia Conversations blog, revealing a countdown for June 24th. Not giving much away, the company teases that "summer brings out our inner glow... stay tuned to Conversations to find out what we've got in store". We're not entirely sure what the company will announce, but since it's green (similar to teasers for the Nokia X), it's possible we'll see an X2 or even the green Nokia Lumia 1520.
EE to begin trialing calls over Wi-Fi in the UK, 4G support coming in 2015
6/20/2014 10:01:50 AM
UK mobile operator EE has today announced trials for calls to be held over Wi-Fi will commence later this year. The trial is part of a £275 million investment in advanced voice capabilities, helping connect more rural parts of the UK who don't have the strongest levels of signal with EE. Launching the trial later this year, EE has also upgraded both 2G and 3G sites to handle the increased data usage across the network and make way for 4G calling services to launch in 2015.
